El Paso Young Democrats "kicked off" the 2012 Democratic Primary with their endorsements. The YD's are considered the corral where young leaders go through campaign boot camp and work their way through field operations and campaign war zones to get their medals of honor and honorable discharge papers needed to move on to running for office.
Getting involved and being in a YD organization will pretty much help a young Democrat test the waters of politics and determine whether they can weather the storm of the combat sport in El Paso we call local politics. Lots of good, hard working national, state, and local Democrats have come through the ranks of the Young Democrats. And so here are their endorsements for the 2012 Democratic Primary:

There are a lot of new young leaders on the ballot this time and only two incumbents who lost the El Paso Young Democrat endorsement. The incumbents not getting the EPYD endorsement are Marisa Marquez and Victor Flores. The new and young faces in El Paso politics are part of the emerging home grown leadership. Congratulations to the El Paso Young Democrats leadership for their involvement and dedication to the El Paso Democratic Party!
