The last 20 seconds of today's news casts on KVIA Channel 7 News alleges that County Commissioner Willie Gandara Jr., was the subject of a raid and arrest for drug related charges. This is breaking and I will follow up with news as it is reported! Big game changer in Lower Valley politics, specifically the race for State Representative District 75 and has significant impact for his District Director Dora Oaxaca and her candidacy for County Commissioner in Gandara's current seat.

Norma- How does this arrest affect you in the future? You have always been a big supporter of Gandara and his family and having represented this area for many years I'm surprised you didn't see what everyone else did when it comes to the horrible job he did representing the people. Hopefully now you will choose your political friends a little more cautiously.

Anonymous "Robert" this doesn't affect my future. As a former elected official, we work with all elected officials. The people make the decisions at the ballot box unfortunately, money has bought seats in all areas of government. I passed bills with every single person in our El Paso legislative delegation, I passed bills for the County of El Paso, and City of El Paso, and various groups and organizations. I have no control what you do on your own time. And I am sorry that the community has been through so much with public corruption, scandals, and pending investigations. Political relationships are political relationships. Friends are friends. Obviously PAST my loss for re-election, I know who my REAL friends are, and that is very nice!!
